Last week, Mayor Rob Burton revealed his intention to help revive businesses in the town's three BIA areas, including paid parking relief, which is expected to go before Town council Monday. He told the Oakville Beaver yesterday he'll put forward a motion then. In an earlier interview with the Beaver, the mayor said the proposal will ask staff to create a free parking policy in the downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA) that could be ready for implementation by June. see Community on p.12 Oakville's Natalie Coleman and Gus McMillan will perform in the Zacada Circus School's Circus Revolution show, which takes place at 687 Barton St. in Stony Creek April 25-27 and May 3-4. As Chair of this year's Oakville Terry Fox Run, Ward 2 Town Councillor Pam Damoff shared with residents, local politicians and business of cials who gathered at Town Hall Wednesday how, 34 years ago, on April 12, 1980, the Canadian hero dipped his arti cial leg in the Atlantic Ocean to mark the beginning of his cross-Canada Marathon of Hope. That journey and Fox's story and battle with bone cancer continues to be remembered and honoured through the annual Terry Fox Run. Its kick-off event is also a tradition, one that aims to encourage the Oakville community to begin its own journey in raising funds for the upcoming Terry Fox Run, set for Sept. 14 in Coronation Park. With no entry fee or minimal required donation, Team Up For Terry invites the community to gather colleagues, associates, friends, families see Terry on p.3 sothebysrealtyoakville.ca 905.845.8908 We Sell Homes Just Like Yours Sotheby's International Realty Canada, Brokerage.
