G. Washmgton of Swift lCurrent, Sask.) A ` In his early youth, Mr. Hill had a penchant for the study of medicine and was educated withthat object in view. Later he relinquished this ob-- ject for agricultural pursuits, which proved not only agreeable, but emi- nently successful. `In 1886 he was appointed as collector of taxes, which position he oheld for two years, .when the people recognizing his ability and worth elected him to a seat _ in the Council. For seventeen years he helped steer the municipal ship of state, when the people asked him by their votes to step up to the -more responsible post of Reeve,` re-electing him the following year by acc1ama- tion. At the end of, the year 1906, he re-signedwhis municipal seat to ac-_ cept the clerkship of the Township, an office which _he has since lled with the greatest honor and integrity.
