Though he had been in ill health for the cast few vears, yet his death was very sudden at the last.- He ate his dinner with the family, went to his room, where he was followed by his wife, who helped him to his bed and passed away in a very` short time. Most of his life was spent on his farm near Cookstown, but on account of ill health during the past few years he and his wife made their home with their son and only child, U. P. McLennan. In his home life he was an exceptionally kind and affectionate gusband and father. In religion he was a resbyterian, being a liberal contributor to thefunds of the church and a leading elder in Cookstown church for many years, before his removal from there. He was: a true friend, just in his dealings. a man of fine principle and a gentleman in every sense of the word. He attained the age of 68 years and leaves to mourn his loss a devoted and loving wife and son, ve sisters and one brother.
