Before commencing his sermon the speaker gave some statistical gures, which showed the order tabs in excellent standing. Throughout his sermon he impressed upon the congregation their duty of kindness and charity. A very pleasant and sociable evening was spent in the Burton Ave. Methodist Church. on Tuesday night, the proceedings taking the form of a farewell social and reception. The farewell was to Rev." III 0 .I `I I0 I A0` The annual picnicof the Ladies Aid Society in connection with the Presby- terian Church was held in the grove at Midhurst on Monday and was a splen- did success. Races and games were indulged in by the children while their parents looked on. The tea, which was served at 6 o'clock, was a credit to the ladies of the church. The football match between Dalston and Midhurst resulted in a draw, neither side scoring, though there was fast and clean playing on both sides. Dalston has not only a ne lot of players but also a gentlemanly lot of men, and we would like to see the game played oil before harvest sets in. The concert in the `evening was another success. Miss Ruth Miller delighted the audience with her splendid descriptive recitations,* and Mr. B. Markle gave selections on the violin and cornet, which were well received.
