Simple but impressive services in honor of the death of our beloved Queen S were held in St. Thomas church Shanty` Bay, Feb. 2nd. The church's interior had been suitably draped ` almost a week ago in violet and black in honor, of Her late Majesty. On Saturday at T 10 a.m. the hell rang to callus to the church,` the bell then tolled for 15 minutes. Service began at 10 30 a.m. There was neither military nor civic I display of any kind. The simple and godly .devotion `of Shanty Bay folk to our beloved but departed Sovereign was alone in evidence. The Litany was_ said down to the Lord a prayer. Then followed a lesson (Ecclesiastes xliv, 1 15), then a hymn, 437, then the apes- tles Creed, then the full Burial Service of the Anglican church with some special prayers. i There was no sermon ncr eulogy of the Queen. In a few appropriate words the Rev. E. R.. Thompson said that such from him was superuous.
