Woman`: Rights in Germany.- The cause of woman's rights" in Germany has got a setback by the action of the Relchstag in throwing out a petition that has been under debate for years. It did not look toward female suffrage, or anything of the kind, but merely asked that Womenmight be authorized to enter the so-called liberal professions ot law and medicine. In America there are female doctors, lawyers, professors and preachers, but the Reichstaq has declar- ed that women shall not pursue such vocations in Germany. The petition pre- sented to the Reichstag was supported only by its few Socialist members. 63 I'm nun l8;ll8I.lY.Pnbl1ahwand1 FOR 1891. 'j?I_bBIhod by the Proprietor, 5.
