Bradi Cochrane will return from a oneyear leave of absence to be the head coach of the intermediate AA Hornets team that competes in the Provincial Women's Hockey League. Cochrane is currently leading the skill development programs for the Hornets' rep and house league squads. She has twice led Ontario teams to under-18 national championship wins and is part of the Hockey Canada coaching pool for the U22 and U18 national team programs. The Niagara University grad was a member of the Purple Eagles squad that competed in the NCAA Frozen Four championship in 2002. Jim Nyhuus will move up from the midget A team to coach the midget AA Hornets next season. Nyhuus has more than 12 years of hockey coaching experience and eight years of box and field rep lacrosse coaching experience. During that time, he has won more than 30 tournaments, including an Ontario Minor Hockey Association minor midget title, a Silver Stick hockey crown, a Lower Lakes Female Hockey League bantam championship and provincial gold in both box and field lacrosse. Prior to joining the Hornets, Nyhuus headed the technical and skills development program for the Oakville Rangers and was an instructor with Dick Decloe's Hockey Academy. Brad Arsenault, who will coach the bantam AA Hornets, has served as a non-parent coach for Oakville's novice A and atom AA teams the past two years. Prior to this, Arsenault coached the atom A and AA teams from 2009-11. Carlee Eusepi, currently a non-parent coach with the Hornets peewee A team, will coach the peewee AA squad next season. She was an assistant coach at Clarkson University from 201012 and has played hockey at an elite level in both Canada and the U.S. Mike Kirchmair will move from assistant coach to head coach of the atom AA Hornets. He has worked under Arsenault in the past. Coaches in the A, BB and B divisions for next year include Jordan Sleeth (novice A), Dave Whitworth (novice B), Jason McLeish (atom A), Gerry Bouwman (peewee A), Stacey McConnell (bantam A), Terry Gardiner (bantam BB), Dave Schurman (midget A), Kerry Schwichtenberg (midget BB) and Kevin Kemp (midget BB). Members of the team are Robbie Forbes, Christopher Kalongo, Hunter Smith, Brandon Van Laare, Markias Klufas, Jake Logan, Jack Janisse, Aidan Karadza, Will Nicol, Dominic Boyle, Adam Rostom, Connor O'Brien, Mitchell Kereluik, Liam Beattie, Daniel DeBraga and Ryan Ferri. The team is coached by Geoff Kereluik, Robert Forbes and Chris Ferri. The trainer is Tom Karadza. Novice Canes edge Dragons in triple OT The Oakville novice red Hurricanes slayed Hockey Briefs their house league rivals, the Oakville Dragons, 4-3 in triple overtime to win the Red Division at the Bradford Blue and Gold Classic. Matthew Rogers scored the winner for the Hurricanes, his third goal of the championship game. Also contributing to the win were Nicholas Zanatta, Noah Schiller, Liam Woolstencroft, Ryan Morrow, John Kundrat, Samson Vanstone, Colin Fernandez, Tomas Poirier, Ethan Mizal, Philippe Mitchell, Adam Mammoliti, Hamish De Jong, Lucas Smith and Jacob Choy.
