ARMSTRONG, Marjorie Grace - She is finally at peace. Marjorie Grace Armstrong R.N., (nee Walther) formerly of Tillsonburg, passed away on Monday, February 24th, 2014, at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock in her 97th year. Marjorie was pre-deceased by her beloved husbands George A. Barrie Jr. (Jan. 14, 1968) and Harvey George Armstrong (June 19, 1998). Dearly loved mother of Shirley Barrie & Ken Chubb of Toronto; Marlene and Reg Egilsson of Woodstock; Sylvia and Larry Sales of Woodstock; Elisabeth Barrie and John Wilkin of London; Pat Armstrong of Burlington and Tom Armstrong of Hamilton. Also survived by her adored grandchildren Alexis Chubb, Robin Chubb and Yiwen Zhu, Nathan Egilsson, Brad and Darda Sales, and Emily Sales and 3 (soon to be 4) cherished great-grandchildren, Dezmin-Peter, Quinlyn Marj and Maclyn Jorie Sales and eagerly awaited Baby Chubb. Beloved sister of Helen Pettigrew (2008), Jean Gehring, Jack and Betty Walther and Pauline Masecar and loved Aunt Marjorie to numerous nieces and nephews. Our Mom faced many challenges over her long life and relied on her deep faith to give her strength and comfort. The family unit was extremely important to her and she was a loving inspiration to her children and grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff on Peach Place, Woodingford Lodge for their excellent care over the years. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Marjorie at the VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOME, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg, N4G 3R7 (519-842-4238) on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 27th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 101 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg. Reverend Donna Chapman officiating assisted by Rev. Andrew Brndjar. Memorial donations (by cheque only) to The Alzheimer Society Oxford County; CNIB; or First Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
