Thesmienxaminer Considering the-disgraceful exhibition that wasstaged in the v House of Commons during the last session, I am convinced that a more independent attitude, both on the part of electors and elected, would do much to improve the situation in our Houses` of Parliament. The unfortunate conditions that developed, with a horrible waste `of time and money, were, l believe, brought about largely by a desire on the `part of some to control the treasury benches rather than to serve the Shelburne, August 30, 1926. Independents in the House must be given credit for much of this helpful legislation. When the votes are counted on September 14th, it is quite likely that Independents will again hold the. balance of power. I therefore ask for your loyal support, conscientiously be- lieving that as an Independent free to vote on questions according-to my best judgment rather than atthe bidding of a party whip I can serve my constituency and my country to advantage. t iuuupuuu lu Lallll U11 'clLllUIl'lUDllCS, TCGUCUOU In IUCOITIC IZIX, TCCIUCUOH in postage, abolition of receipts tax, the Old'Age Pension Bill and other measures in the interests of the peopleias against the monied interests makesthe session a notable one. utugulsnene, m the Province ofAOntar- io. did on the 26th day of August. 1926, make an authorized'Assignment of all his property for. the benefit of his creditors and that John Mackay. ~ Official Receiver.
