Killed - Private H.H.G. Barrett, at the battle of Langemarck. He was born in Sutton, Surrey, England, 21 years ago and came to Grimsby four years ago this spring. When war was declared he was one of the first to offer his services, and left for the front with Fighting B Squadron, 2nd Dragoons. He was a tall athletic young man of a quiet, unassuming nature, was well liked by all who knew him.
