Predeceased by her son Kenneth and brother Morris, Rosemary is survived by her husband of 47 years Chris, daughter Candice, brothers Leonard and Stephen, dear friend Margaret, as well as many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Rosemary moved to Halton Region from Nova Scotia, where she worked and raised her family while enjoying summers at Cameron cottage on the shores of Lake Huron. Rosemary's love of sewing and fabric led her to Acadia University where she obtained her B.Sc. in Home Economics. In addition, she graduated from the Home Economics programs at Nova Scotia Teachers College and the Ontario College of Education. She taught high school Family Studies for many years before starting her family. Rosemary learned quilt making from her mother Ruth; an interest that was later rekindled when she made a baby quilt for her daughter, Candice. In 1977, Rosemary founded the Halton Quilters' Guild and went on to win many awards for her beautiful quilts. A gifted artisan, she turned her passion in to a career, lecturing and teaching, as well as publishing several books and patterns through That Patchwork Place and under her own label, Quilts by Rosemary. She will be fondly remembered for her calm and gentle nature. Always compassionate and caring, Rosemary supported many causes, including Yonge Street Mission, Acts of Kindness, Halton Women's Place and others. After her son's struggle with mental illness, she actively supported the Schizophrenia Society, organizing the donation of a quilt made by members of the Halton Quilters' Guild using one of her award-winning patterns. The quilt was used as the prize in a raffle to raise funds for the society. Rosemary's kindness continues to be extended to others through the Trillium Gift of Life Network.
