Recog- nizing the closeness of this nal score, the District, Athletic Asso_ ciation presented a handsome cup as a consolation prize to the -177th team for its splendid showing. Each member acquit- ted himself well. The bronze medals were afterwards presen- ted by Col. S. C. Mewburn and Lt.-Col. H. C. Osborne, while Col. Teams from all the battalions in Mili- tary Division No. 2 were entered, and in the semi-nals, the 164th Bn. champions of the city of Hamilton, the 198th champions of Toronto, and the 17/'th`for the northern `battalions, were the contesting teams, for the cham_ pionship. In Physical Training A contest, the 177th Won the semi- nals from the 164th Bn.
