The Bronte Creek Project is a one-semester environmental leadership program offered to Grade 10-12 students in Halton. Students from any community may apply to attend the program for one semester and busing is provided daily. Grade 10 students take part in the Trailhead program, and Grade 11/12 students participate in The Bronte Creek Project. Credits are offered at the academic, open, college and university level. The focus of the semester experience is adventure, community, leadership and environmental stewardship. Students take part in adventure trips including rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, snowshoeing and daily outdoor activities. They also have a chance to apply their leadership skills by working with elementary school students and teaching them about our natural world. Students prepare healthy lunches as a team and foster a sense of community and responsibility to each other and to the larger community.
