Joshua Creek, Captain R. Wilson, E.J. James and Forest Trail will join four other schools from across the region in the girls' playdowns at Craig Kielburger High School, beginning at 5 p.m. West Oak, Emily Carr, Sunningdale and Eastview are part of the eight-team boys' field competing at Milton District High School, starting at 4:30 p.m. The Tier 2 finals were held Tuesday. Maple Grove, Sunningdale and Heritage Glen were the Oakville competitors in the girls' tournament at Georgetown District High School, and W.H. Morden, Heritage Glen, Forest Trail and James W. Hill played for the boys' Tier 2 title at Garth Webb Secondary School. Two Milton schools -- Tiger Jeet Singh and Hawthorne Village -- won the Tier 2 boys' and girls' titles, respectively. Results from the Tier 1 championships will be published in one of next week's editions of the Beaver. Oakville edged the Cambridge Hawks 2-1 in the final. It was the Lions' second win over Cambridge during the tournament, with Oakville prevailing 4-1 during round-robin play. In other games at the competition, Oakville tied the Woodstock Navy Vets 4-4, blanked the North London Nationals 5-0 and shut out Woodstock 4-0. Members of the team are Ethan Begin, Ryan Blumer, Nathan Bureau, Mekaile Carbone, Evan Carlesi, Nathan Chin, Michael Dickinson, Zachary Digiuliantonio, Riley Flemington, William Herbert, Ethan Louro, Ethan Ma, Owen McConnell, Charile Pearce, Neil Smith and Ethan Sullivan. The Lions are coached by Jeremy Blumer, Paul Begin, Brian Dickinson and George Louro.
