Somne basebail fans braved the cold an Saturday evening and went ta see the world champion Negro teami, the Washington Pil- ots, trim the Part Hope Team. Camborne team visited Kendal Tuesday evening and were beaten rather badiy, 12-1. Quantrill pitched for Kendal. A large crowd of friends and relatives gathemed in Kendal Orange Hall on Fiday evening for a dance and sbower, held for Mr. and Mrs. Ted Coatham (nee Grace Mercer).) The hall was prettihy decorated in pink and white with white belîs. After a peiod af dancing, Mr. Hartwell Lowemy caled the bride and groom ta the platform. Miss Joyce Bur- ley read the address. Joyce Low and Ruth Jackson drew back the curtains presenting a tableful of lavely izifts and Madelon Allin, niece of the bride, presented ber ?HU1MSDAY, -JUNM 22, 195à with a bouquet of flowers. The groom and bride responded, ex- pressing thanks ta their friends and to the committee in charge of the sbower. After lunch dancing was again resumed. The Committee wish to express their thanks to the mus- icians. Mr. and Mrs. H. I. met in the Sunday School room on Wednesday even- ing, June 14 with Mrs. Stoker presiding. The roll caîl "Uses of aluminum, brought a variety of answers. A letter from Bowman- ville W. I. with five invitations ta their 50th anniversary banquet were gratefully received but ow- ing to June 21 being the date of our Sunday School ice cream social the ladies will be unable ta at- tend. A letter was also read fromn Miss Jean Noble thanking the W. I. for donation to Girls' Club trip. The ladies were requested to round up their subscriptions as Mr. James would like the contest closed in June. After much dis- cussion it was decided to apply to the Home Economics Service for the short course on Modemn Dressmaking in July. This is a four and one-haîf day course and anyone interested in sewing and who would like ta attend may contact Mrs. Stoker Mrs. Luxon. Mrs. W. Mercer or Mrs. Gardon Martineli. There is no charge. There was also furiher discussion on our Kendal signs and lîghts for the streets. Mrs. W. Mercer is to secure a map of Kendal and find out how the money is ta be raised for the power used. Mrs. Reg.
