Auction Sale of 1 An Old Proverb WITH A MODERN APPLICATION The truth of the old proverb, "bare Walls make a gadding housewife", is emphasized in the home sparsely and unattractively furnished. And who is there would blame the woman seeking relief from a sordid scene of drudgery, that walls her in like a prison, finding refreshment for her starving soul in the glamor of pretty things outside her own home. A happy custom is that of every littie While adding a bit of nexv furniture to the home-an odd chair, a bright pillow, a new Chesterfield, an odd table, a picture, a gay shade for the floor or bridge lamp. with an artistic home to enjoy, the houseWife and the family will be loath to go "gadding". Let us assist you in making your home more inviting, attractive and comfortable. F. F. Morris Co,' The Home Furnishers Phone 10 Stores-Orono and Newcastle Bowmanville HORSES THE MUSIC STUDY CLUB The members of The Music Study Club enjoyed a splendid musical treat at their regular meeting, March 2, wjien the study of Mozart was taicen up by the committee composed of Mrs. W. J. Morrison, Mrs. D. R. Mor- rison and Miss Margaret Allun. Miss Edith Widdup, pianist, from Ontario Ladies' College, Whitby, opened the program with a group of three nuni- bers which at once made her a favor- ite with Bowmanville music loyers. This number was followed by "The Aria from Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart rendered by Mrs. (Dr.) G. E. Reaman. The vocalist has a voice of exceptional quality and clarity of tone which makes it a great pleas- ure to be one of ber audience. A piano solo, Fantasia in C Minor was played by Miss Widdup after which she graciously responded to a hearty encore. The study paper on the Life of Mozart was very ably prepared and read by Miss Margaret Allun and -gave considerable information to ail. Mrs. Reaman then favored with a group of tbree songs, Lullaby, The Violet and Alleluiah by Mozart. These are the three best known and most used songs by that composer at the present time. Program closed with another piano selection by Miss Widdup.
