Stephen Lewis to speak at Labour Council banquet The Oakville and District Labour Council (ODLC) will hold its 13th annual Activist Awards Banquet Nov. 14 to honour contributions to the community and union. The evening will be held at the Unifor (formerly CAW) Local 707 Galaxy Banquet Hall, 475 North Service Rd. E., with doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The event will recognize and celebrate five local activists for their involvement in the community and, for the first time, award three affiliated local union members' children with $500 or $1,000 scholarship from the ODLC. This year's banquet will feature keynote speaker Stephen Lewis, co-founder and co-director of AIDS-Free World and board chair of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
