Dear father of Brenda Million Radford (Rob Million) of Stratford and Bruce Radford (Rosemary) of St. Marys. He will be remembered by his grandchildren Victoria Radford of Toronto, Devin Radford of Los Angeles, Vanessa Million of London, Spencer Million of Brooks, AB, Byron Eveson (Carolina) of China, Chad Eveson (Doreen) of Oakville, Deb Thorne (Paul) of Milton. Great-grandfather of Brooke Thorne of Milton. Dear brother of Lawrence Radford (Marion) of Renfrew, sister in law Nona MacDonald Heaslip of Toronto and brother in law Bob Drew-Brook of Qualicum Beach, BC. Predeceased by his brother and sister in law Wilfred and Doris Radford of Toronto, sister in law Margaret Radford (Lawrence) of Ottawa, sisters in law Doris Morris of Woodstock and Betty Drew-Brook (Bob) of Qualicum Beach, BC as well as brother in law William Arthurs Heaslip of Toronto. Paul led an adventurous life. He joined the army in 1942 fresh out of high school and landed at D-Day in France in 1944 at the age of 20. He earned a degree in Business Administration from U of T and started his career with the Auditor General of Canada. Until 1956 he worked in Ottawa, Toronto and New York doing field audits. In 1956 he left the Auditor General to oversee and manage the startup of a new mining town, Manitouwadge, Ontario. In 1967, he moved to Woodstock and bought "Peckhams", a recreational product business. Many Woodstock residents will remember buying boats, motorcycles and power equipment from him. In 1979 he sold the property and the assets of the business. Rather than retire then, he worked as a "CASE" consultant for the FBDB for many more years, as a "CESO" counsellor on native reserves in Canada as well as some overseas assignments. He also worked for many years as an advisor to his wife Alice and her business partner Marnie Tatham in their "Colours" business. Paul and Alice travelled to Japan, Russia, India, many countries in Europe, most Canadian provinces and many US states. For years they maintained a winter home in Venice, Florida where he enjoyed his pursuit of outdoor sports. Paul was a long time member of Craigowan Golf Club. Throughout his life he also nurtured his passion for investing in the stock market. He was actively investing up to a few weeks before his death. Those close to him benefited from his generosity. After Alice's death he became one of the first residents of Oxford Gardens in Woodstock and made many friends there. During his time there he rekindled his interest in bridge. He was active up to the last few weeks of his life. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the BROCK and VISSER FUNERAL HOME , 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday October 23, 2013 from 2:30-4:30 and 7-pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday October 24, 2013 at 11am. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery. Personal condolences may be sent at www.brockandvisser.com
