To that end, Colin Chappell and his wife Carol, hope to remind people to keep their canines on a leash when out for a walk because they may not know what some dogs they meet have been through -- such as their new pet. Colin and Carol recently went to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) in search of a four- legged friend and settled on Ray, a 75 lb., two-and-ahalf-year-old German Shepherd/Lab cross. To see if Ray was right for them, Colin, a life-long cat person, regularly walked with Ray around the grounds of the humane society and spent time with him off-leash in the shelter's enclosed pen. see Pet on p.19
