Bill MacPhee to speak on schizophrenia during mental health week on Oct. 8 The Canadian Mental Health Association Halton branch is putting on a presentation next month as part of Mental Illness Awareness Week. A presentation by Bill MacPhee will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the River Oaks Community Centre, (2400 Sixth Line) Community Room B, from 7-9 p.m. MacPhee was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 24 and, on his road to recovery, started SZ Magazine, a quarterly publication about living with schizophrenia. In addition to hearing his story, participants will also see a presentation on recovery and ideas for people living with mental illness as well as their families and friends.
