Beloved brother of Mary, Francis and brother-in-law of Peter, and esteemed uncle of Stephan. He will also be deeply missed by family members in Canada, England, Australia and Germany. He is also much respected by the many friends and members of the Oakville Soccer Club for whom Coach Phil served for 40 years. Phil was honoured in 2000 by being inducted into the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame. May his soul rest in the peace of the Lord. Ivy immigrated to Canada in 1952 from England with four children, and later four more children were born. Ivy was the wife of Ronald George who predeceased her in 1979. She leaves behind her children, David (Sandy), Hilary, Richard, Ian (Penny), Carol Bench, Roberta (Bobbie) Modesto (Jim). Mom was predeceased by her daughters Josephine, and daughter Angela (Harvey) Smith, son-in-law Donald Leroux, and daughter-in-law Edith Deeks. Mom's greatest legacy is her family and she leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 38 greatgrandchildren. Her only nephew in Canada, Kenneth (Margaret) Carter. Mom was a "Yorkshire Girl" and always had tales of her days at home with her family. She is predeceased by her parents, Percy and Georgiana Baines, brothers George, Pearson, Stanley, Derek, her sisters Ena, Melinda, and Doris. Mom leaves behind many nieces and nephews in England. Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Oakville Senior Citizens Residence for the wonderful care and compassion they showed to our mother, and our family. Loving grandpa to Brad, Cole, Valerie, Fraser and Laura. Survived by his sister Amy Lewis (Edward). A long time member of Hopedale Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder for 42 years, Sunday School Superintendent. Clerk of Session for 14 years, Board of Managers, and Trustee. Past Commodore of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron. Retired from Occidental Petroleum (Nexen). WWII veteran, serving with the 1st Canadian Division Signals in Sicily, Italy, and Northwest Europe.
