Ward 2 Councillors Cathy Duddeck and Pam Damoff are inviting residents to enjoy a free movie night under the stars at Coronation Park on Saturday (Aug. 10). The event, cancelled July 27 because of rain, will begin at 7 p.m. Presented in association with Encore Cinemas, it will feature the movie Dolphin Tale, and will benefit the Oakville Terry Fox Run, which takes place in the fall. Children will be able to have their faces painted by local artist Laura Stephenson and visit with members of the Oakville Fire Department. Dolphin Tale's visual effects supervisor and Cayman Island unit director Robert Munroe will be present before the film begins to speak about the making of the movie and what it was like to work with Winter the dolphin. Kinsmen Club of Oakville will be selling hot dogs at the event in support of the Oakville Terry Fox Run. Representatives from the Oakville Terry Fox Run will be on site with information about the run and special `In Memory' and `In Honour' signs will be available for purchase for $5, with all proceeds going to the run.
