The free all-day family festival will once again take place at the Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park on Monday, July 1 and feature the amazing reworks display residents have come to know and love. "We want to send a clear message, `All systems go,'" said Ann Sargent, executive director of the Bronte BIA. The event, which drew some 50,000 people in 2011, was thrown a bit of a curve ball earlier this year when it was discovered it would not receive funding from the Town of Oakville. The Town had been a signi cant contributor to the celebration over the past four years -- pitching in $30,000 in 2009 and 2010, $25,000 in 2011 and $20,000 in 2012. Thanks to the show, Kirsh also got her rst professional bout, which she won, in Brazil. Going into the ght, Kirsh said she didn't know what to expect. "It wasn't an opponent that I really knew a lot about. Because it was arranged as part of a documentary, we didn't have a regular coach down there with us.
