He did so because the area is home to many rms that have made the region and Canada economically strong -- rms that were on the frontline during the recent recession. "This region is a historic centre of Canadian industry and commerce. It is home to some of Canada's most storied businesses and prestigious centres of learning. Many of the rms that made this region and Canada strong were on the frontlines as the global nancial crisis pushed the Canadian economy into recession," Poloz told a crowd of more than 800 at an Oakville Chamber of Commerce luncheon held at the Burlington Convention Centre. While Canada's economy has largely recovered, some of the recession's lingering effects are holding back economic growth, said the newly-appointed Bank of Canada Governor. see Canada's on p.3 R E G I S T E R E D M A S S A G E FA C I A L S W A X I N G 511 Maple Grove Drive, Unit 21, Oakville (near Sobeys in the Maple Grove Village) Open 7 days, until 10:00 pm weekdays Call now: Reg . $ 8 9.9 289.837.3838 5 * Introductory offers valid for first-time visit only.
