Literacy Council's spring book sale moves to QEPCCC Thousands of gently-used books from a variety of literary genres will be on sale during the Oakville Literacy Council's (OLC) Spring Used Book Sale. The fundraiser will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC), 2302 Bridge Rd., and opens on Friday (June 7) from 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. and will continue Saturday (June 8) to Monday, June 10 (8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.). "Our volunteers have been working tirelessly to cull and sort the tremendous number of donations of books we've received over the last month," Ann Bowman, OLC president, said in a press release. Children's books and paperback will be priced at $1 and larger-sized trade paperbacks and hard covers will cost $3 -- all books will be sold at half price on the final day of the sale. "There are also specially-priced rare and unique gems to be found in all genres, many first-editions and many signed by the authors. The oldest book dates back to 1840 and books covering architecture, design and a variety of other subjects will be of interest to collectors and others," stated the release.
