Cycling tour will provide glimpse into local woodlots Oakville cyclists have a chance to learn about trees and new trail systems during an organized bike tour Saturday. Oakvillegreen and Cycle Oakville have teamed up to organize a leisurely bike ride that will not only provide good exercise, but introduce residents to new trails and natural treed areas near Oakville Town Hall. Riders will pass through a woodlot impacted by the Emerald Ash Borer, see heritage trees and innovative tree planting practices by four local schools, and take a smooth ride on McCraney's new bike lane. The ride will also include a scenic bird's eye view over Sixteen Mile Creek. Riders should be aware the tour will include road bike lanes, flat gravel trails and multiuse pathways. Participants are asked to meet at Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd., at 10:15 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. departure. The ride will return to Town Hall between noon and 12:30 p.m. Families are welcome. People are asked to pack a water bottle and snack.
