SWANCE, Ronald Jacob - Passed away at Woodstock Hospital on Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 in his 75th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Linda Swance (nee Smith). Dear father of Raymond (Scotty), Wayne (Helena) and step-father of Michael and Steven Schoutese. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Opal (nee Holmes) Swance, sisters Shirley (Ronald) Shewan and Sandra (Max) Barber-Dunn. Dearly loved grandpa to seven wonderful grandchildren and Poppa to seven precious great grandchildren. Cherished brother to Catherine "Kay" Foreman (Ronald). Also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Ron came to Woodstock (Curries) at the age of four from Dereham Centre. He started in the road grader business with his father and his then partner Dave Murray and ran a successful repair and retail grader shop. His son Wayne joined him and he worked right up to his illness this year, a total of 58 years running a road grader. He claimed that he never retired, he was just getting tired. His work was his beloved hobby. There will be no funeral service at Ron's request. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodstock District Developmental Services, or the Canadian Cancer Society and may be arranged through BROCK and VISSER FUNERAL HOME 519-539-0004.
