The incident began just afîer 2 arn. when police officers observed a vehicle driving erratically at a high rate of speed eastbound on Derry Road, west of Tremaine Road, police said. *"W7hen police attempted to follow the vehîcle, the vehicle sped off and turned out its lights," said Det. Sgt. Murray Drinkwalter of Halton Regional Police. The driver refused to, pull over and con- tinued speeding through a subdivision. t tumned south onto Scott Boulevard, west onto Dymott Avenue, north onto Savoline Boulevard and west onto Derry Road before heading north onto Tremaine Road, police said. Officers couldn't initiate a pursuit of the 9 c W PN Drinkwalter said. He couldn't say what speeds the vehicle reached. "We couldn't catch up to it," he said. "We were attempting to keep tabs on it." Police Iost sight of the car after it turned onto Steeles Avenue. Several other police cruisers became involved in the incident. A vehicle police suspected of being the fleeing car was spotted in the rural area of Appleby Line and No. 14 Sideroad. Police attempted to pull it over, but the driver didn't stop. About a kilometre further, police caught up to find a vehicle that had rolled-over. A maie passenger got out of the vehicle and the driver was assisted out by police and taken to Milton District Hospital wth minor injuries.
