Brenda Pickering, 43, pleaded guilty to tbree counts of tbeft over $5,000 ear- lier tbis year. Dick as well as at Georgetown's Stewarttown Public Scbool between 2002 and 2005. A police investigation was initiated after a complaint by the Halton District Scbool Board tbat irregularities bad been discovered in tbe scbool councils' accounting practices. Pickering was cbarged in February of 2006. Friday at Ontario Court of justice in Burlington, Justice Allan Cooper sent- tenced ber to an 18-montb conditional sentence, witb six montbs' bouse arrest.
