"We're very excited about it because Milton bas grown a great deal and there are new issues and new concerna," said Tony Lambert, chair of the Milton Community Policing Commîttee (MCPC), whîch is putting on the event. The forum will take place this Sunday froru 2 to 5 p.m. at the Milton police station at 490 Chîlds Dr., in the community room. Its aimed at address- ing public and individual safety issues of concemn, Lambert said. Presentations will be made on four topics - road safety wills that protect seniors, Internet safety and how to set up a neighbourhood watch program. Each session will be followed by a question and answer session. There'l also be refreshments. Road safety and the issue of speed- ing is a commun concerîî for residents, Lambert said, as ia road rage. Ward 3 Councillor Jan Mowbray will present that portion of the forum. Lambert will present on how to formi a neighbourhood watch prograru, something hie did in his community of Hawthorne Village last year to help keep it a safe one. Halton Regional Police Const. Jackie Brennan will tackle the issue of avilIs and power of attorney while Internet safety - particularly on-line bullying - is another topic thatîl be addressed. Lambert said the leamning will go both ways at the forum; not only will attendees leave better educated, but police will appreciate hearing from res- idents. "They really want to hear from the public about how they can address their concerna," said Lambert. He said this will become an annual event.
