Trees will be picked up in urban areas along wtth regular Blue Box col- lections for three weeks, beginning January 9. Halton asks residents to keep the following winter tips in mind when placing their waste curbside: * Place items out for pick-up by 7 a.m. on the mnrning of collection, but flot before 5 p.m. the night before * Secure your recyclables. Stack * your Blue Boxes on top of one another to prevent papers from blowing away Place heavier items on top of ltgbter ones. - Flatten and tic large cardboard boxes and place them securely under- neath or between your recycling boxes. Tie cardboard in bundles no larger than 30 inches bx 30 inches by 8 inches (76 cm by 76 cm by 20 cm.) * In one Blue Box, place loose glass bottles and jars, metal food and bever- age cans, aluminumn foil and pie plates, Styrofoam, plastic bottles, drtnking boxes and milk and juice cartons In a second Blue Box place flat- tened corrugated cardboard, fine paper, box boards and newspapers Keep waste items clear of snow and visible to collect.
