This year's events include raising the pride flag, celebrat- ing pnide at the theatre and a pride bruncb. HOPE bas made proclamation and requests to ly the rainbow Pride Flag for Halton Pride Week from September 3 to 9. Tbe flag will ly over the towns of Milton and Oakville, the city of Burlington and at Regional beadquarters on Bronte Road for the entire week. The West End Studio Theatre of Oakville in association with the Halton Organization for Pride and Education and Tickets cost $25 eacb and $20 for students and youth PFIAG Halton will present the IOîh anniversarx' of the uncler 18. September 15 at 8 p.m. The comedy follows Ben Chambers, wbose wife runs off with bis brother. Ben heads to New York City to get comfort from bis son Norman, only to find that Norman is living with an openly gay partner. Wbile Ben tries to set bis son on the straight and narrow, the play is about a fatber's journey to acceptance of bis child. Saturday, Sept. 8 is Halton Pride Day, and HOPE bas a block of tickets for this performance at tbe Oakville Centre for the Pedforming Arts, 130 Navy St., in celebration of Halton Pride Week. Portions of the tickets sales will support the 9th Annual Halton Pride events. The HOPE Community Pnide Brunch for the LGBTQ communities, its allies, familles and friends will be held Sunday, Sept. 9 from 11 arn. to 2 p.m. at Sharkey's World Cafe, 220 North Service Rd. HOPE has also partnered with the Burlington Central Library for Halton Pride Week and will have a display shelf of LCBTQ resources and fiction at the library the week of September 3 to 9. There will also be a HOPE display at the Oakville Centre for the Pefforming Arts during the run of 'Norman, Is that You?' fromn September 6 to 15. HOPE staff and volunteers will be on hand most nights to talk about HOPE. The Halton Pride Planning committee is still looking for other volunteers to assist in planning and orchestrating the Ninth Annual Halton Pride Picnic in june 2008, as well as to expand the event into other venues.
