Don't forget about animais at Christmas Staff of Milton police station collecting donations for animals that have been abandoned, abused Staff at the Milton police station are asking residents to remember aban- doned and abused animals this Christmas through Project Wishbone. The station, located at 490 Childs Dr., is collecting donations for the ani- mals at the Upper Credit Humane Society - which services part of Halton - along with the Acton and Georgetown stations. Donations will be accepted until next Friday Organizers are hoping residents will think of the animals at the humane society when they're out choosing a toy or treat for their own pets. "These animals ask very little out of life - some love, a soft bed, veterinari- an care and a bowl of food," said a spokesperson for the project. "This year we hope to give those animals at the Upper Credit Humane Society all those things and maybe a few toys." The animals' wish list includes: »For dogs - smoked marrow bones, new or used blankets, leashes, collars, igloos, toys, stainless steel water buckets and beds *For cats - large cat cages, clump- ing cat litter, nail clippers, treats, kitten formula, cat carriers, cat condos, litter boxes, scratching posts •For rabbits - water bottles, pellet food, Timothy hay, toys, new or used small animal cages Also needed are cleaning materials including scrubbing brushes and laun- dry soap, office and medical supplies, a de-humidifier and new or used large and small animal veterinarian scales. Money donations will also be accepted. Tax receipts will be issued for donations more than $25 if requested. The Upper Credit Humane Society is supported by volunteers and operates daily on donations from the communi- ty.
