\Rides free on Milton Transit on certain days Milton Transit is helping make Christmas shopping more affordable this holiday season by offering free rides on certain days. Local residents will be able to take the bus at no cost December 6, 13 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children under age six always ride for free. The customer appreciation initiative wraps up a year of special promotions, which included free rides during March Break and for seniors in June and Transit Appreciation Week in October. Amongst the transit milestones for the year are the 150,000th bus ride taken in August, ridership reaching a monthly high of over 8,700 bus trips in October and the introduction of monthly bus passes, including a special lifetime transit pass for recipients of the Milton Senior of the Year award. During the holiday season, regular service will continue as usual for the most part, with conventional service and accessible transit service for indi- viduals with physical challenges can- celled December 25 and 26 andJanuary 1, 2007. St. Paul's invites Miltonians on a musical Christmas journey The St. Paul's United Church Choir invites residents to take a musical Christmas journey This Sunday, the church will hold its Carols by Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. to start the advent season. The service will be a meditative one with candle lighting and story-telling through familiar carols. "We take real pleasure in presenting old-time favourites with new piano arrangements and introducing novel * experiences such as ajapanese carol for women's voices," said choir president Myra Hudspeth. December 17, the choir will present its cantata, 'Born a Saviour, Born a King', at 10:30 a.m. Everyones wel- come. The choir will welcome guest artists who'll provide orchestral accom- paniment.
