Earlier this month, Halton issued a request for proposaIs for the proct to five consulting firms, wbicb werc chosen tbrough an expression of interesi proccss. The successful fnm will work witb staff on developîng a business case to present to regional councîl in the spring. The business case will include the preîiminary air quality environmentaî, bealtb, transportation and financial assess- ments nccdcd to initiate public consultation and make an informed decision on the options for Haltons EFW facîlity "i is critical that Halton move forward on our energy- from-waste plans. The current diversion rate is almosi 43 per cent.
