That was the message a group of local residents delivered at a Town open bouse Wednesday evening regarding its Trails Master Plan update study Tbe recently initiated study tbat 'revisits tbe plan - originally produced in 2000- presents a chance to look at the Towns strategy for supporîing and encouraging walking and cycling. The update is considering ways to accommodate pedestrians through trails, and cyclists tbrough signage ibat would warn drivers a road is a bike route as well, dedicated bike lanes, paved shoulders and multi-use traits. Avid cyclist Rob Cheskcy said he hopes prov isions will be made for cyclists on Iremaine Road. Resident Ken Royds ecboed bis sen- timents. "A couple of good friends bave been killed on tbat road in the last cou- pIe years." Royds also questioned where chil- dren are supposed to ride safely in Milton. "There is no sale place," he said, noting tbere needs to be a trail sys- tem wbere everyone can take their kids. "Riding is part of our quality of life."
