As light dawned, investigators and onlookers converged at the White Drive home, which was a charred shell of its former self. Gone was the entire garage - which contamned the humEt exterior of a Jeep - and the second storey was gutted. Hours after the blaze was put out, curlous residents were still watching the firefighters [rom hehind the cor- doned off area, and the [ai smell of burnt rubber was canied with the wind. "ires atiract people like a magnet," said training technician Barry Kory of the Milton Fire Depariment. The home, located near Syer Drive, was fully engulfed in flames when [ire crews arrived just after 4:30 a.m., Kory said. Neighbouring homes were evaduai- ed as firefighters worked to knock down the flames.
