HALTON HILLS GENERATING STATION TransCanada Energy Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of TransCanada Corporation has commenced planning for a new energy generation facility -the Haîton His Generating Station - in the 401 industrial corridor in the Town of Halton His on a site located between Highway 401 and Steeles Avenue west of 6th Line on undeveloped, industrial lands in the Town of Halton His. This project is being developed in response to the Ontario Power Authority's planned procurement for new generation in the Greater Toronto Area West of Toronto - Request for Proposais No.: GTA-Trafalgar-RFP.2006 lssued: April 28, 2006. TransCanada wiii be submitting a proposai to deveîop a 680 mega-watt natural gas fuelled, combined cycle power plant. If the Ontario Power Authority selects this proposai, and the project achieves ail approvais the project wiII be constructed. The proposed project wiil use state-of-the-art low emission, high efficiency technology. Proposed Halton Hils Generating Station The Halton Hilîs Generating Station is subject to the Environmental Screening Process for electricity projeets as outlined in the Ontario Ministry of the Environment's "Guide to Environmental Assessment Requirements for Electricity Projects." (March 2001) This notice has been issued to advise the public, other stakeholders and government agencies of TransCanada's proposai and the commencement of the Environmentaî Screenîng Process.
