A few new additions, including an education program director and a couple of new railcars, make for a promising season, said Caroline Rose, the museums marketing director. "Theres been a lot of work on the cars over the winter and we're really excited about wbat bas been accomplisbed," she said. "We've acquired a new higb-rail car from Toronto (drives on road and rail) and an elevated car from Chicago. We've been working on the TTC car 416 and have got the roof on and the windows painted and stained and it looks good. As well, we've bired someone to lead an educationsl program 50 its looking to be a good season." The HCRR, located on Guelph Line, bas about 60 volun- teers that actively work at the museum on a regular basis completing restoration work on the railcars and property, helping with fundraising, and even conducting the trains, said Rose. The HCRR is also a great opportunity for bigh school students to earn their required volunteer hours, she added. The addition of the education program wsll belp young children understand the history of the rail system and the purpose of the individual cars, said Rose. She added that the program will be offered to day camps throughout the summer and any schools that wish to book an outing in May, June, or early faîl.
