A grade separation is warranted at this crossing based on rail and road traffic volumes. Therefore, the Town of Milton is carrying out a study of the Main St reet East / CPR Grade Separation, in accordance with the Municipal Class Environme ntal Assessment (Class EA> process, which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. McCormick Rankin Corporation is assisting the Town in carrying ouf the study. The first Public Information Centre was held on May 10, 2005. Thereafter, the preferred alternative for the proposed Main Street / CPR grade separation was determined and includes realigning Main Street to the south as an underpass t0 the CPR tracks. A second Public Information Centre has been arranged to review the preferred alternative and the proposed mitigation measures. Following the information centre, the preferred alternative will be reviewed taking into consideration the commenta reoeived, and confirmed or modified.
