'1 loved ber film and met up with ber and gave her my demos' Ms Moquin said. The rest, as they say, was history. Soon Ms Moquin and the director were sending ideas and musical files back and forth froru Calgary, Alta. -where the film was being shot -to Mtlton. As ber ideas for the score bubbled forth and the music took shape, Ms Moquin said she realized she wanted a live vocalist. After doing sotne checking around locally, Ms Moquin said she heard Ms Pitkanen sing the national anthem at the Milton Fair Grounds and knew she'd found the strong, powerful voice for which she'd been lotok- ing. "1 had the basic song for her, and she was able to throw in a bunch rtf ber flour- ishes," Ms Moquin explained. The classically-trained Ms Pitkanen, who runs the Milton-based Canadian Academy of Vocal Arts, said she enjoyed the challenge of baving to get inside the mind of the lead character and reflect that in ber voice. "There were se, maay takes we rejected because they were either tort classical, tort nice or trto angry," she said. Both women said they're hoping to col- laborate again in the future -on future movie projects and the upeoming CD on which Ms Pitkanen is working. *We really had a good creative energy working together,- Ms Pitkanen said.
