The Proposed Plan speaks to the Province's vision for managing growth to 2031 including how and where municipalities will grow. It also contains broad-level policies that wiIl guide planning for the infrastructure needed to support growth as well as for the protection of our heritage and natural resources. Last spring, Halton hosted a Growth Forum on this topic and as a result provided the Province with the viewpoints of Hatton's public as wel as Regional and Local Councils' collective position on the Draft Plan. Now that the Proposed Plan has been released, we'd like to hear from you again. The Province has set January 27, 2006 as the due date for public comments. Given this short time frame and the intervening holidays, we would like to provide you with as mnany opportunities as possible to hear your views. Halton's website has been set up to receive input and provides a link to the Ministry's Proposed Growth Plan. Click on Provincial Growth Plan" at www.region.halton.on.ca to view or dlownload a copy of the Plan. Region staff will prepare a Summary of Public Comments and present a Joint Regional and Local Municipal Response outlining our collective position for consideration by Council in early February. This timeline has been established to ensure we meet, as closely as possible, the Province's deadline for input. If you would like your feedback: to be considered in Halton's response, please ensure you send your comments to the Region by Januairy 13, 2006.
