vMeeting on eondomin*IlIm proposai set for Aug. il Local residents will soon have another chance to throw in their two cents' worth on the multiple condomninium apartment buildings proposed for the corner of Main Street and Maple Avenue. The Town is organizing a public infor- mation meeting for August 1l at the Milton Leisure Centre on the potential develop- ment that drew substantial opposition at a ninitial public meeting in May. The proposal is for five four-storey con- dominiums with a total of 264 units and a private clubhouse containing a fitness and meeting room at the northeast corner of Maple and Main. Town Senior Planner Barbara Koopmans said plan revisions are in the works, with the developer looking to address things like parking and setbacks. The initial plans included 190 parking spots and 264 under- ground spaces. The August meeting will consist of an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., where residents can look over the revised plans. A presentation and an opportunity for residents to speak and ask questions will follow. Ms Koopmans said notification of the meeting was mailed out to residents last week. In order for the development to go alead, Milton counicil would have to approve a zoning bylaw amendment to change the approximate six-acre property from a mediumn density zone to high density. Public meeting on board budget Local residents cao voice their thoughts on the Halton District Sehool Board's pro- posed budget for the upcomiùng sehool year at an information session tomonrow. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. at the P.W. Merry Education Centre, located at 263 Britannia Rd. E., just west of Trafalgar Road. An outlime of the proposed budget will be presented at the meeting. Board staff will also be on hand to respond to ques- tions and reeeive public input. Trustees of thse school board will consid- er approval of the budget at a special board meeting Thursday at 8 p.m. as the JW Singleton Education Centre, 2050 Guelph Line. Burlington. Also on that meeting agenda is consideration of the board's spe- cial education plan. ~ MY SJSTER'S CLOSET Great Friendly j Saervice .908. 875. 0232.
