A new 'nostalgia bar,' aptly natned Hot Rods, opened its doors on Cbisholm Drive last week and owner Cbris Orzecb indicat- ed he bas big plans for the 17,000-square- foot building tbat formerly boused Yahooz nigbtclub, and tbe Milton Cinemas before tbat. "Ne want to do a car-tbemed bar," be said, noting tbere'lI even be cbeckered flag table clotbs and cutlety stored in toolboxes. "It's going to be a fun place." Mr. Orzecb's tbree vintage motorcycles and some of bis gas station memorabilia are already on display tbrougbout tbe building. And witbin tbe next couple montbs, Mr. Orzecb and manager Mike Lowry expect to bave al] tbeir plans in place, including a car museumn and gift sbop in tbe back roomn of tbe establisbment where Mr. Orzecb's nine bot roda will be on dtsplay. Mr. Lowry said tbey want to make Hot Rods a family-oriented restaurant complete witb gaines, two volleyball courts and fre- quent barbecues. "We're tryîng to tuin it into a destination spot," be said. Anotber section of tbe large building is being transformed ie a banquet/confer- ence hall facility tbat Mr. Lowry said will realistically hold about 250 people. The upper floor is already being put to use for tisings like corporate meetings, con- ferences and private parties. Currently, Thursday and Saturday eveninga as tbe new bar feature live music by local talent. Saturdays will be country and westem-tbemned, complete witb line dancing. Once tbe weatber gets warmer, tbere'U be a barbecue and pig roast on Sunday aflemnoons, and Mr. Orzecb noted anyone who sbows up witb their classie cars will get a free 'pig on a bun.' Tbose wbo are musically-inclined wilI also bave tbe opportunity to take to tbe stage for a jain session. Mr. Lowty noted tbe response fromn tbose wbo bave visited Hot Rods so far bas been good. "People are positive on every- thing tbey've seen so far," bie sald.
