Program on mood disorders starts Wed. The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is offering an educa- tion and self-help program on managing a mood disorder starting Wednesday in Milton. The six-week course will focus on depression and hi-polar disorder (manie depression). Sessions will ho held each Wednesday until May 18 t'rom 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ontario Early Yearo Centre, 917 Nipissing Rd. Each week there'll ho a different speaker followed hy small group discussion. TMe speakers include a psychiatrist. a wellnexs and complementary treatment practitioner, an advocate to speak on the oigne and symptoms and a panel of com- munity mental health workers. The programn is open to people living with a mood disorder -depression and hi- polar -and their famnily memhors. The cost ix $30 for an individual and $50 for a family. The Halton District School Board will host a gifted education information night Monday in Burlmngton. The session is intended for parents of grade 4 children who've recently undertak- en thse gifted education screening process and who may ho moving forward with an identification of intellectual giftedness. The evening will give parents an ides of how programnsing can support the needs of their child. A representative of thse Association for Bright Children will ho there to share infor- mation regarding support if offers for par- ents of gifted children.
