HALTON REGION NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT Tremaine Road (Regional Road 22) and James Snow Parkway (Regional Road 4) Transportation Corridor Improvements Town of Milton Class Environmental Assessment Study The Regional Municipality of Halton is initiating a Class Environmental Assessment for the Tremaine Road (Regional Road 22) transportation corridor in the Town of Milton. The study area is bounded by Campbellville Road, the existing alignment of Tremaine Road (Regional Road 22), Derry Road (Regional Road 7), Bronte Street and Regional Road 25 (refer to map below). The need to satisfy north-south capacity requirements in this transportation corridor has been identified in studies such as the Halton Region Transportation Master Plan (2004) and the Sherwood Survey Secondary Master Transportation/Transit Plan (2004). The main focus of this study will address the required improvements to Tremaine Road (Regional Road 22) and the associated connections, including the alignment of James Snow Parkway (Regional Road 4) from 200 m west of Regional Road 25 to Tremaine Road. The study will also investigate the implications of an interchange along the existing Tremaine Road alignment, or a shift of its alignment. The study will take into consideration the Sherwood Survey Secondary Plan process conducted by the Town of Milton. This notice signais the commencement of the Class Environmental Assessment - a study which will define the problem, identify and evaluate alternative solutions, and determine a preferred solution in consultation with regulatory agencies and the public. The study is being conducted in compliance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (June 2000), whiqh is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The need for these infrastructure components has been identified in the Region's "Water & Wastewater Master Plan Review" adopted by Regional Council in March 2003. This assessment will: (1) consider a wide range of options for providing water, wastewater, sewage pumping and forcemain infrastructure to satisfy the needs identified in the "Water & Wastewater Master Plan Review", and (2) consider options for the crossing of watercourses and the placement of the new watermain, wastewater mains, sewage pumping station and forcemain. A number of alternatives will be examined and the impact of such improvements on the social and natural environments will be considered.
