INDIAN CREEKISIXTEEN MILE CREEK - SHERWOOD SURVEY SUBWATERSHED STUDY NOTICE 0F STUDY COMPLETION n 2001, the Town of Milton inifiated a Subwafershed Study focused on the proposed developmenf of the Sherwood Survey, comprised of lands wesf of Regional Road 25, norfh of the future mid-block collector Louis St. Laurent Avenue locafed between Derry Road and Brifannia Road, east of Tremaine Road, soufh of the 401, wesf of Peru Road, soufh of C.N.R. rail mie, wesf of Bronfe Streef and soufh of Derry Road. This involved an asseasment of the existing vegefa- fion and wildlife, a sfudy of the existing creeks and wafer- courses which may sustain f ish habitat, as well as an assessmenf of the impacts which the development may pose t0 flooding and wafer pollution levels downsfream. The sfudy has made recommandations f0, address these pofenfial impacts, which include maintaining open wafer- courses and vegefafion features in some areas f0 provide habitat, and the construction of a system of stormwater man- agement faciliies f0 prevent flooding of downsfreamn lands and fo remnove pollufants from the runoff before entering the watercourses. The scope of the study has included portions of the Indian Creek, a subwatershed of the Bront e Creek and portions of the Sbdeen Mile Creek, ail iocated witlhin te Town of Milfon. The study is cosided. a Master Plan flliowing Phases 1 and 2 of thie Municipal Class Environmenfal Assessment. The Master Plan identifies the recommended drainage infra- structure to service the future growth of the Sherwood Survey. The recommended Master Plan incorporates the comments received f rom the Public and agencies during the course of the study. While the Master Plan addresses need and justification at a broad level (subwatershed scale), more study for each of the recommended projects will need f0 be undertaken et a lafer date following the appropriate process.
