Bated on comparisons af demand ta capacity, the protect cancluded that there is a need ta supplement the exîstîng municipal mater suppty system, bath îmmedîately and in the long term. In response ta Ibis the Csty has implemented a compreltensive mater conservation/demand management program as well as a program to patentally increase capacity from the eassting ArkeI Spring Grounds municipal weil system. Master Plan Project Now Underway Looking tamards the longer term, the City has inîtsated a Water Supply Master Plan Project. The Master Plan Praiect will identify addîtîonal sources af mater ta supplement the enîsting supply in the 50v year planning horizon (Le. to ait leaut 2054). Alternatives ta he studîed include developîng addîtionat groundwater supplies as well as devetapîng alternative municipal supplies wbicb could include new surface mater sources and partnerships wîtb neîgbbourng munîcîpalîlses. This proiect is being developed as a Municipal Clans Environmental Assessment (Clans EA) ander Ontario's Environmental Assensment Art. Public Involvement Walcome Public involvement is an important part af the Clans EA procenss Resîdents, basînesses and communîty arganizations are învited ta partîcipate in developing the new Water Sapply Master Plan that is eapected ta be completed by mîd 2005. Opportanîties for public inpat, încladîng public meetings, marksbaps and open bouses, wilI occur tbrougboat the Master Plan procens ta seek communîty feedback on îdentsfîed addîtional sources of mater for the City.
