This handy resource outlines a number of steps that you can take towards personal emergency preparedness, and provides key telephone numbers and other valuable information that would be helpful ta you in the event of an emergency situation. Halton Regional Council wilt be appointing members of the public to the newly created Halton Regional Cycling Committee, approved by Council in October2004. We are looking for eight citizens (two from each local municipality: Burlington, Halton HuIs, Milton and Oakville) tajoin the cycling committee. lnterested citizens will meet with the Planning and Public Works Interview Committee, and if selected, be ratified by Regional Council, pursuant ta Council approved guidelines. Committe. PurposelMandate The purpose of the Halton Regional Cycling Committee is ta promote, facilitate, educate, and encourage increased cycling in the Region. The Halton Regional Cycling Committee will represent the interests of cyclists across Halton. The committee will be instrumenta in the identification and implementation of a variety of educational, engineering, and encouragement initiatives. This is a unique opportunity ta meet new and interesting people, develop your skills and share yourtalents regarding cycling initiatives. Responsibilities as a Committee Member Committee members will be expected ta attend bi-monthly Cycling Committee meetings, beginning in March of 2005. Other opportunities for involvement in future initiatives, events or projects may be necessary.
