He showed a clip from Mr. Camreron's upeoming film Aliens of the Deep, a 3-D Imax documentary of 40 dives made ta voicar vents of the Atlantic and Pacifir Oceans, scheduled for release in January. Dr. MacInnis worked with Mr. Cameron on this film and will be putting out a book on the expeditian, alsa in January. Halton Chair Joyce Savaline said Dr. Macinnis' presentatian was bath 'enter- taining and educational." She said the presentation tied mnto "the awareness that we always n-y ta create about a healthy envirornent and how that contributes ta our quality of life." Dr. Macinnis' talk also had an effect on those in attendance, bath young and aid. Oakville Christian School grade 8 stu- dent Caroline Beckley said the presenta- tion taught her that, "We need ta be confi- dent. We can't just give Up." Commercial realtor James Weber of Burlington said he alto found Dr MacInnis informative. "We need ta think glabafly, flot just lacally," hie said of what he gathered fram the speech. "There's plenty that everybody can do ta help (preserve the environ- ment)." The event was directed by a round table of volunteers frumt Halton's school boards and corporate and commnunity sectars. l waa presented in partnership with the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and supparted by Bell Canada. Ms Savoline said the Region will host another breakfast event in April.
